Our mission
US dates are scattered: a school calendar on a district site, a tax deadline on the IRS site, a holiday on the OPM site. Our job is to bring them together without distorting them.
Every page shows its source and the date it was last verified. We would rather have an incomplete page than a wrong date: a bad date makes someone miss a registration or a deadline.
The site is written for families who plan around a school year, not for search engines. A district page exists because someone needs to book a flight, arrange childcare or plan a move around a break, and needs the date to be right.
We do not sell placements in the calendars, and no district can pay to appear on a page. When a date changes, the source is checked again and the verification date on the page moves with it. Corrections are handled before anything else.
What we do not do: publish an estimate when a source is missing, merge two districts into one calendar, or copy dates from an aggregator that does not show its own source.
- Never publish a date without an official source.
- Show the verification date on every block.
- Flag districts whose calendar has not been checked yet.
- Correct a reported error before publishing anything new.
